Roles: Room Attendant

About the role:
As a Room Attendant, you will keep guest rooms and common areas clean, organised, and welcoming. You’ll work in a variety of spaces throughout the facility, including guest rooms, bathrooms, lounges, lobbies, kitchens, and outdoor areas. The work takes place in well-lit, temperature-controlled environments with a mix of surfaces including carpet, tile, wood, and cement flooring.
On a typical day, you will:
• Sort, count, fold, and transport linens to guest rooms
• Make beds and refresh rooms for incoming guests
• Restock supplies such as drinking glasses, bathroom items, and writing materials
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors
• Vacuum carpets and clean upholstered furniture
• Dust furniture and polish metalwork
• Wash windows, walls, doors, and ceilings
• Empty waste baskets and clean ashtrays
• Replace light bulbs and maintain common areas
• Transport trash to designated disposal areas
• Move furniture, hang drapery, or roll carpet as needed
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete additional tasks as assigned
You’ll use standard cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, and cleaning supply carts. Uniforms are provided.
Skills/background needed:
No previous experience required. We’re looking for someone who:
• Can speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
• Works well as part of a team
• Has good communication and customer service skills
• Can lift, pull, and push loaded equipment over uneven surfaces
• Can bend, twist, stoop, and kneel comfortably throughout the day
• Is comfortable standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
• Can handle objects of different sizes and weights
• Follows instructions well
• Can work independently and manage your time efficiently
Hotel housekeeping experience is a plus but absolutely not required. Full training will be provided on the job, and we welcome beginners who are eager to learn.
What to expect:
Work shifts vary based on facility needs, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. You’ll receive two breaks and one half-hour lunch break during your shift. Overtime is rarely required. You may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions occasionally when cleaning exterior areas.
