Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the cleanliness of all designated areas of the hotel. We provide full training, so no prior experience is necessary. You’ll work as part of a dedicated housekeeping team, reporting to your supervisor on a daily basis.
Duties and responsibilities:
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, meeting spaces and public areas
- Changing linens and performing bathroom maintenance
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and removing debris and trash
- Carpet shampooing, window and wall washing, dusting and woodwork maintenance
- Managing room keys according to established procedures
- Maintaining your housekeeping cart and ensuring it is ready for the next shift
- Reporting maintenance repairs and cleaning supply needs to your supervisor
- Notifying your supervisor of any situations that may affect guests or colleagues
- Other duties as assigned
Position relationships:
You will work closely with the front desk, engineering and events team, and will have regular contact with guests and visitors.
Skills/background needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a busy environment
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Physically capable of walking, standing, bending and lifting for extended periods
- Able to operate basic housekeeping machinery
Working environment:
You will work primarily in the hotel and convention center with exposure to varying temperatures. You may encounter hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors or other challenging conditions. This is an on-site, in-person role. You must be willing to attend all mandatory meetings and participate in training and development activities.
