Role overview:
Join a hotel housekeeping team and maintain clean, welcoming spaces for guests. Working under the guidance of your Floor Supervisor, you’ll carry out a range of cleaning, restocking, and maintenance tasks throughout the hotel. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and teamwork matter most. No prior experience needed—we provide full training.
What you’ll do:
Your daily tasks will include:
• Clean and sanitise guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning products and equipment
• Vacuum carpets and rugs, sweep and mop floors, and dust surfaces
• Restock supplies such as towels, linens, toiletries, glasses, and amenities
• Change bed linens and make beds to standard
• Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and dispose of waste appropriately
• Handle bathroom tasks including cleaning toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors
• Sanitise high-touch items such as remote controls and telephones
• Move furniture and hang drapes as needed
• Report maintenance issues to your supervisor
• Ensure guest privacy and room security
• Work collaboratively with your team to meet daily targets
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills/background needed:
No experience necessary. You should have:
• Ability to communicate clearly in basic English—reading, writing, and speaking
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hands to handle, feel, and manipulate objects; push and pull a cleaning cart
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and disinfectants safely
• Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions
• A strong commitment to guest service and maintaining high standards
• Reliability and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when scheduled
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for guest privacy
• Willingness to demonstrate thoroughness and continually improve your work
Physical demands:
This role is active and involves standing and walking for extended periods. You’ll regularly use your hands to clean and handle items, reach with your arms, flip mattresses, and push or pull cleaning carts. You may occasionally need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work environment:
You’ll work in a hotel setting where you’ll be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other substances. The environment may be noisy. You may work extended hours and irregular shifts, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Full training on safe chemical handling and use of equipment is provided.
