Summary:
We’re looking for a Houseperson to join our team and help maintain clean, welcoming public spaces. You’ll support the housekeeping department by keeping hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and meeting areas looking great. This is a hands-on role where you’ll make a real difference in creating a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff. No prior experience needed—we’ll train you on everything.
What you’ll do:
- Clean and maintain public areas including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and meeting spaces
- Support housekeeping staff by delivering and collecting linens, supplies, and equipment
- Respond promptly and politely to requests for extra supplies or amenities
- Empty trash and dispose of waste properly
- Keep housekeeping storage areas and carts tidy and organised
- Restock supplies in public restrooms and other designated areas
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or broken equipment to the appropriate team
- Follow all health and safety rules, including proper use of protective equipment
- Assist with special cleaning projects when assigned
- Support hotel events by ensuring areas are clean and presentable
Skills/background needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a bonus, but we welcome beginners
- Ability to work independently with light supervision
- Strong attention to detail and genuine care for cleanliness
- Good communication and customer service attitude
- Ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks
- Physical capability to lift, carry, push, pull, and bend regularly
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
Work environment:
You’ll work indoors in public areas. You may be exposed to cleaning chemicals and occasional equipment noise. The role involves frequent physical activity including bending, stooping, and reaching. You’ll regularly lift and carry items and push or pull carts as part of your daily duties.
