We are seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee our housekeeping team. In this role, you will supervise housekeeping staff, plan and assign tasks, schedule training for new team members, and inspect work to ensure it meets our cleanliness standards.
You will also manage supply ordering, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and monitor the department budget. As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness, organisation, and appearance of the facility.
What you’ll do:
Approach all interactions with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner and maintain a positive demeanor. Create and maintain a positive work environment by addressing and resolving conflict calmly and professionally. Prepare and assign work tasks to the housekeeping team and distribute them fairly. Inspect completed work for conformance to cleanliness standards. Respond promptly to housekeeping requests and complaints. Approve supply requests and maintain adequate stock levels of linens, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms. Handle lost and found items according to standard procedures. Conduct daily inspections of staff carts, linen closets, stairways, public areas, and guest rooms. Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with the maintenance team. Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget. Prepare reports for management as needed. Anticipate the needs of guests and team members and show initiative in your work. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills/background needed:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to communicate effectively with guests and team members. Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or other formats. Basic mathematical skills for budget and inventory management. Strong leadership and organisational abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Team player mentality with ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Prior housekeeping experience is valued but not required—full training will be provided.
