Roles: Environmental Services Technician – Per Diem (flexible hours)
Schedule: Hours and shifts vary. Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 12:30am; Saturday and Sunday: 7:00am to 3:30pm. Weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
About the role: You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas within a healthcare facility, including patient areas, common spaces, and specialized rooms. You’ll perform various cleaning tasks including disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, removing garbage, and managing hazardous waste disposal in accordance with safety procedures. Your work ensures the facility remains clean and safe for visitors, patients, and staff.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Perform cleaning tasks across different areas of the facility: disinfecting surfaces, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, furniture, windows, stairs, and doors. Remove and dispose of garbage and hazardous waste properly. Handle soiled linens. Clean and disinfect specialized equipment in surgical areas and remove medical waste containers. Operate floor cleaning machines, buffers, and wet/dry vacuums. Deliver and stock linens, supplies, and equipment to different departments. Clean up unexpected spills, accidents, and biohazardous materials. Support emergency response as needed. Learn and follow all safety protocols, material handling procedures, and chemical safety guidelines. Work cross-trained across all facility areas.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. You must be able to read, write, and speak English to perform job duties. Full training on all equipment, procedures, and safety protocols will be provided. Prior housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Per diem (flexible, on-call basis)
